This meticulously designed platform streamlines the donation process and provides greater transparency for supporters and donors across the world. The website’s development was made possible with the support of MillenniumIT ESP, a leading Sri Lankan global enterprise solutions provider. As part of their CSR initiatives, MillenniumIT ESP played a vital role in the quick development of this user-friendly platform, ensuring seamless access for donors. MillenniumIT ESP developed the website and will be maintaining it for the next three years as a CSR project of their company.

The all-new website offers a user-friendly platform that provides easy access to information regarding the NCISL’s vital work, ongoing projects, and will provide the donors the utmost transparency of their donations while giving an insight of the immediate and long-term requirements of the hospital. Securely linked to the Sampath Bank gateway, the platform allows international donors to contribute directly to specific causes, such as essential medical supplies, with the option for anonymous donations.

The National Cancer Institute of Sri Lanka’s Development Committee, established and approved by the Sri Lankan Health Ministry, goes beyond facilitating donations. The Hospital Development Committee which is comprised of visionary volunteer leaders, led by the Chairman-Mr. Binara Jayewardene has designed a 2030 plan with short, medium, and long-term planning to take the hospital to greater strides and launching the website with transparency is one of the initiatives of the 2030 plan taken by the Hospital Development Committee. They also focus on staff well-

being. Given the stressful nature of the work healthcare professionals have to endure, the committee gives back by hosting events such as Avurudhu celebrations and Wesak Bakthi Gee, to help create a positive work environment. The events also provide patients with an opportunity to interact socially and respite from their medical concerns.

Mr. Binara Jayawardena, Chairman of the Hospital Development Committee, described the project as a turning point for the hospital, which is governed under a new constitution adopted 18 months ago to bring transparency and structure to fundraising efforts. With a focus on long-term sustainability and international partnerships, the hospital aims to be a leading cancer care provider in the region.

Mr. Nishan Wasalathanthri, Chairman, of the NCISL Marketing Committee, a subcommittee which is operated under the Hospital Development Committee said, “Before the website, there was no clear direction for individuals who wished to support Apeksha Hospitals. We recognized and understood the need for increased transparency, and the need for a platform that would empower donors from around the world, who could make a significant difference in the lives of our patients.”

Additionally, the NCISL will also be launching a social media initiative to help promote its fundraising efforts across the world. The objective of the initiative is to showcase the platform where people can learn about the hospital’s projects and make donations as they see fit. In order to maintain transparency, the website showcases a comprehensive list of donors and their contributions. This note not only promotes and ensures accountability but also helps foster trust with support from around the world.

The NCISL urges everyone to visit www.helpapeksha.com and gain as much knowledge as they can about the initiatives and projects carried out, and to consider contributing to a vital cause. The help of local and global donors, facilitated by secure payment gateways like Sampath Bank and Lanka Pay, is essential for Apeksha Hospital to continue providing exceptional care for cancer patients in Sri Lanka.

BNS has generously agreed to serve as the brand ambassador for the NCISL’s fundraising efforts. With their support, the NCISL aims to raise awareness and generate greater support for its vital mission.
