MoU signing ceremony between National Agricare and Maldives’ Mianz Private Limited

National Agricare started its journey in 2002 as a farmers’ company of Bengal and the company has been contributing significantly to the agricultural revolution of Bangladesh since its inception. National Agricare is going to start the journey of export of agricultural materials and pesticides to meet the demand of agricultural materials of the country. Import-dependent pesticides are now going to become an export-oriented industry. In continuation of that, a memorandum of understanding was signed between National Agricare, one of Bangladesh’s agribusiness companies, and Maldives’ Mianz Private Limited at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel premises in the capital on 02 March 2023. Through this, Mianj Private Limited of Maldives will purchase various agricultural inputs (especially pesticides) from National Agricare. On the auspicious occasion of Bangladesh’s agricultural revolution, another milestone has been set in the industrial world of Bangladesh through the signing of this MoU and the export of pesticides from Bangladesh has started for the first time. Note that about 90 percent of the country’s pesticide demand is met through imports and only 10 percent is met through domestic production. Right now when Bangladesh is facing problems in importing various products, export has become an important issue and just then National Agricare has signed this export agreement with a foreign company.

On behalf of National Agricare, the company’s managing director, agriculturist KSM Mostafizur Rahman, and Mr. Ahmed Mottaki, the company’s chairman, on behalf of Mianz Private Limited, signed the MoU. The guests of the program and the president of Bangladesh Agrochemical Manufacturers Association and the managing director of National Agricare, agriculturist KSM Mostafizur Rahman, think that through this agreement, the relationship between Bangladesh and Maldives will be stronger and the economy of the two countries will be more rapid. While delivering the welcome speech Mr. Ahmed Mottaki, Chairman of Mianj Group said that Mianj Group is one of the Fortune 100 companies in Maldives. He also said that they are expanding their business in various Asian countries (Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka). Already, they are going to start business in big economies like United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. Through this agreement, Mianz Group will market the products of National Agricare in 3 Asian countries.

While delivering the welcome speech, Managing Director of National Agricare Group, Mostafizur Rahman, Vice Chairman of Export Development Bureau and the invited guests of the Ministry of Commerce thanked and thanked them for participating in the event. He hopes that the Made in Bangladesh brand will take the name of Bangladesh to greater heights in Maldives. Bangladesh will be known to the world through the quality of Bangladeshi products. Mr. Mostafizur Rahman also said that National Agricare will soon expand its business to various Asian countries and African countries.

Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Export Development Bureau Mr. A.H.M. Ahsan Private Secretary of Honorable Minister of Commerce Mr. Mohammad Masukur Rahman Sikder, Deputy Secretary of Commerce Ministry Mr. Md. Aminul Islam, General Secretary of Bangladesh Agrochemical Manufacturers Association Mr. MA Mannan and others were present as special guests. Also, Head of Operations of National Agricare, Agriculturist Khandkar Maqbul Hossain, Head of Business Development, Agriculturist Abul Hasan Mostafa Kamal and other senior officials were present.

Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Export Development Bureau Mr. A.H.M. spoke among the invited guests. Ahsan He highlighted the importance of exports in the national economy and appreciated the export of agricultural inputs. Mr. Ahsan also said that he will cooperate with Bangladesh Agrochemical Manufacturers Association to solve any complication of HS code on the issue of export or import of agricultural materials. Moreover, General Secretary of Bangladesh Agrochemical Manufacturers Association Mr. MA Mannan and their senior officials spoke on behalf of Mianz Group and on behalf of National Agricare.

Finally, Managing Director of National Agricare, Agronomist KSM Mostafizur Rahman and Mr. Ahmed Mottaki, Chairman of Mianz Private Limited, thanked everyone present and highlighted the importance of agricultural materials in Bangladesh’s export sector. Agriculturist Mostafizur Rahman requested the cooperation of all concerned to develop the agricultural industry of Bangladesh, to give full form to the domestic pesticide industry, to protect the interests of the farmers, to strengthen the export of agricultural materials to bring about the agricultural revolution and above all to build the Sonar Bangla of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
