Main Sponsor of heritage ‘81st Annual 2-Mile Sea Swim’ event
02nd of March 2018, Colombo: Sri Lanka’s National Mobile Service Provider, Mobitel, is pleased to be the Main Sponsor of the ‘81st Annual 2-Mile Sea Swim’ organized by Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union (SLASU) to be held at the Mount Lavinia Hotel Beach on 3rd and 4th March 2018. Committed to nation building in unique ways, Mobitel once again supports sports in order to encourage local talent to realize its fullest potential.
Commenting on the sponsorship, Mobitel Senior General Manager, Marketing, Isuru Dissanayaka said, “We are privileged to sponsor the ‘81st Annual 2-Mile Sea Swim’ since we believe this is a rich tradition harking back over eight decades which we would like to sustain. We are pleased to collaborate with Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union to support swimming and aquatic sports and bring greater visibility to this sport. The two-day event features the Women’s Open Race, Under 15 Boys & Girls Race, Men’s Open Race and Masters 1 km swim (above 40 years of age). The participating swimmers will vie for the HPN Challenge trophy for Men / Inter Services Trophy and the Best Performance – Under 15 years of age trophies!
The Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union is the national governing body for the aquatic sports of swimming, diving, water polo, synchronize swimming and open water swimming. This sponsorship will make Mobitel synonymous with the aquatic sports for which the country possesses the ideal conditions. Mobitel is committed to developing this sport further.
