Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change will be more Public Oriented: Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan

Syeda Rizwana Hasan, advisor assigned to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, said that the Ministry of Environment will be made into a more people-friendly ministry. An example will be created by taking effective measures to control various types of pollution. Asking for the forgiveness of the souls of the martyrs in the movement of students, the advisor said that the participation of student representatives in the activities of the ministry will be created. Motivational activities will be implemented to increase the mobility of the officers and employees of the ministries and subordinate offices.

 




 

The Environment Advisor said these things Sunday on 11 August 2024 in an exchange meeting held with the officials of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate in the meeting room of the Bangladesh Secretariat.

The environmental advisor said that the action plan will be adopted and implemented in the light of the current public expectations, keeping the mandated activities of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change ongoing. Preventing the use of polythene and single-use plastics, controlling air pollution, stopping noise pollution caused by car horns, taking initiatives to prevent river pollution, developing waste management activities, protecting mountains, preserving forests, preventing water bodies from filling up, implementing high court orders etc. will be implemented on a priority basis.

Syeda Rizwana Hasan said, with the aim of increasing the involvement of all stakeholders related to the environment in the work of the ministry, international and national organizations, organizations, civil society, mass media, private sector, academics, professionals and others will be continuously exchanged at the national and departmental level. He said that initiative will be taken to speed up the complaint settlement activities of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and its subordinate departments. Regular meetings of the National Environment Committee will be convened to take important decisions on environmental protection. The decisions of the Ministry and Directorate will be regularly updated on the website to ensure transparency and accountability as per the expectations of the people.

Farhina Ahmed, Secretary of the Ministry of Environment at the meeting, additional secretaries and senior officials of the ministry were present.

Prior to this, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor in charge of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, was welcomed by the senior officials including the secretary of the ministry when she reached her office at the Bangladesh Secretariat.
