COLOMBO, Sri Lanka – March 31st, 2023 – Microsoft Sri Lanka recently hosted a successful roundtable discussion titled “The Future of Cybersecurity: Embracing Zero Trust in a Digital Age” featuring industry experts, who shared valuable insights and best practices on cybersecurity. The event aimed to empower local organizations to adopt comprehensive security solutions to effectively combat the growing risks of the ever-changing cyber threat landscape.

With businesses adopting multiple clouds to accelerate their digital transformation efforts, the attack entry points multiply, making them vulnerable to more sophisticated cyber-attacks. As a result, it becomes essential for organizations to approach cybersecurity proactively. During the event, Microsoft encouraged local business leaders to use multi-cloud security solutions such as Microsoft Defender to secure their organization across clouds.

In addition to announcing Microsoft’s latest product innovations across cloud security, DevSecOps, threat protection, identity governance, management, and information protection, the discussion emphasized how Zero Trust technology is imperative for organizations to strengthen security. Five key business scenarios were presented to demonstrate how implementing a Zero Trust architecture can not only serve as a security priority, but also drive business results.

“The rapidly evolving technological environment has inevitably made cloud security a priority for businesses. While Microsoft offers a comprehensive, yet simplified security framework to help organizations mitigate increasingly complex cyber threats, it is equally important for us to create dialogue and educate our customers to take proactive measures to safeguard their digital assets and operations. As an organization that champions cybersecurity, we will continue empowering businesses to leverage our end-to-end, pioneering, and AI-powered security solutions to achieve more,” said Harsha Randeny, Country Manager for Microsoft Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

The event also showcased different ways in which organizations can capitalize on their security investments and streamline resources, especially in today’s economic climate. Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Priva were featured as prime examples of innovative products that can help security teams efficiently govern data and maintain compliance to ensure their organization is meeting regulatory requirements and minimizing the risk of cyber threats to their operations.
