McLarens group recently hosted the 3M-McLarens Occupational Health and Safety Symposium 2025, marking a historic milestone in Sri Lanka’s commitment to workplace safety. The private sector-led initiative brought together over 300 participants from more than 100 companies across diverse industries, under scoring the need for advanced standards of safety at the workplace.
The symposium served as a platform to educate, empower and equip safety and procurement managers with the latest insights, innovations and best practices in occupational health and safety. With the high-paced evolution of local industries, ensuring safety of workers and organisations is of paramount importance.
The introduction of holographic stickers on all personal safety products was a significant highlight of the event. The stickers are a proactive measure to ensure that customers are able to distinguish genuine 3M products from counterfeit and grey-channel alternatives of inferior quality, detrimental to health and safety. The holographic stickers offer reassurance and peace of mind, as these products are manufactured to the highest quality and standards. This initiative underlines McLarens’ unparalleled commitment to authenticity and protection of frontline workers.
Dilan Seneviratne, Director and Chief Executive Officer of 3M-McLarens, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “Our drive and passion for occupational health and safety have always been at the core of what we do. This symposium is a testament to our commitment to empowering industries with the right tools, knowledge, and innovations. Seeing the overwhelming response and engagement from professionals across sectors only reinforces our determination to continue these efforts in the years to come.”
Dr. Aseni Wickramatillake, National Secretary, International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH) also shared a few words about the symposium, stating, “As an occupational health professional, I applaud this groundbreaking OSH symposium, hosted for the first time by a private organization in Sri Lanka. The diverse, impactful topics explored the critical need to improve workplace health and safety, while 3M’s innovative efforts, alongside McLarens group, continue to raise occupational health standards across the nation.”
From thought-provoking sessions led by international experts to insightful discussions with local industry leaders, the symposium delivered invaluable knowledge to all attendees. The success of this event reaffirms McLarens’ leadership in driving positive change within the occupational safety landscape in Sri Lanka.
As McLarens group continues to elevate workplace safety, the symposium marks the first stem in a what will be a series of transformative events. Placing trust in McLarens and 3M equates to joining a movement dedicated to creating safer, smarter and more resilient workplaces for all.
