LSEG and SLASSCOM Join Forces to Champion Women in Tech at Conference 3.0

The Women in Tech Conference 3.0, organized by SLASSCOM in collaboration with the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), is set to take place on March 20, 2025, at Cinnamon Grand, Colombo. This events mission is to foster gender inclusivity, workplace equity, and leadership opportunities for women in technology, and LSEG’s involvement underscores its global commitment to diversity and inclusion in the digital age.

The Women in Tech Conference 3.0 will feature engaging discussions, thought-provoking panels, and networking opportunities, providing a platform for professionals to collaborate, innovate, and inspire the next generation of women tech leaders.
 



 
This year’s conference features an impressive lineup of industry leaders sharing their expertise. The keynote address will be delivered by Ms. Barbara Wray, CIO/Head of Engineering at LSEG Regulatory Reporting, on “Leading the Digital Revolution: Adapt & Thrive”. Her session will provide critical insights into how organizations and professionals can navigate the rapidly evolving digital landscape while embracing inclusive growth and technological advancements.

Other prominent speakers at the conference include Ms. Uma Thomas, Chief Risk Officer at Hexaware, who will lead a session on “Building a Resilient Enterprise,” covering risk management, information security, and sustainability. Mimi Nicklin, Empathy Advocate and Author, will present on “The Connected Leader Wins,” discussing empathy, listening, and emotional intelligence in leadership, whilst Ms. Helena Nimmo, CIO of IFS, will speak on “Bridging the Gender Gap,” focusing on inclusivity, mentorship, and empowering women in tech.

The conference will also feature two thought-provoking panel discussions. The first, “Leading in the Tech Space”, will bring together industry experts, including Vidumini Ranasinghe (Director – Delivery, LSEG), Shehani Seneviratne (COO, 99x/Vice Chair, SLASSCOM), and Shanthi Rajesh (APAC BISO and Divisional Head of Cybersecurity at Sysco Labs), to discuss leadership challenges, career growth, and breaking stereotypes in tech.

The second panel, “Closing the Gender Gap in Tech – Strategies, Policies, and Workplace Innovation for Equity”, will explore practical solutions for driving diversity and inclusivity in the workplace. This discussion will feature Thanuja Jayawardene (GM, Women’s Empowerment Advocacy and Code of Conduct, MAS Holdings), Chulanga Perera (Group Chief Technology & Transformation Officer, Hemas Group), and Dr. Subha Fernando (Senior Principal Scientist, AI and Data at Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC), with Niren Heydorff (Senior Product Manager, LSEG) moderating the session.

The conference will not only feature knowledge-sharing and discussions but also serve as a networking hub, connecting attendees with mentors, industry leaders, and decision-makers, while offering valuable insights on career development, workplace policies, and emerging trends to help them excel in the evolving tech landscape.
