8th December 2021 – Sharing the Christmas Spirit with local vendors and artisans, Selyn recently announced their annual “Love Local” pop-up market happening again this Saturday, 11th of December from 10 AM – 8 PM at their flagship store in Colombo 05.

The Love Local pop-up aims to support and celebrate local brands from all parts of our island. This year’s curated lineup includes some old favourites such as Andrea Boekel’s Finest Handmade Embroidery and Tiras Goodies. There are also Pana Packs: Nuts, Seeds & Health Food, Kosgolla Estate’s finest treacle, ready to cook goodness from Hourglass Kitchen and Choy’s Gourmet for wonderful local gourmets and Christmas treats. Representing the crafts and upcycled products is Majä, Isle of Rataa, Sihala Salu and Ru Designer Jewellers. A wide range of kids items is also available at Selyn and complimented with locally published educational material by River House Publications and Panther.

Selyn noted that the pop-up market is an initiative to not only provide customers with a wide range of locally made quality products but to also provide exposure and a platform for local vendors to come together. The ‘Love Local’ pop-up highlights the importance of buying local products that are authentically made and one’s that support the livelihoods of local communities.

“We are very excited to bring back our Christmas pop-up market: “Love Local” this year due to high demand. We want to use this pop-up to feature vendors that are working with local artisans and bringing value to our craft and others that have invested in bringing healthy and local gourmet products to the market. We are very excited to team up with our wonderful vendors this season, all of whom have unique and creative products for you. It is even more important that we support our local vendors in the backdrop of the pandemic,” said  Selyna Peiris, Director – Business Development, Selyn.

The ‘Love Local’ pop-up will host locally made, ethical and sustainable handicraft and gourmet products perfect for Christmas gifting this season. Selyn notes that safety precautions and COVID-19 protocols will be provided to ensure a safe experience for shoppers.
