India’s top Lube brand Hindustan Petroleum Lubricants arrives in Sri Lanka with Sea World Lanka

Sri Lanka’s lubricants market has been significantly strengthened with the formal entry of HP Lubricants, part of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HCPL), one of India’s frontline oil majors, in partnership with Sea World Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.
 



 

This groundbreaking development which also advances Sri Lanka – India trade relations in a vital sector, was fittingly celebrated at a gala launch event in Colombo. India’s Deputy High Commissioner in Sri Lanka H.E. Dr. Satyanjal Pandey was the Chief Guest at the launch.

The event was attended by Director Marketing of HPCL Mr Amit Garg along with senior officials – the Executive Director of the Lube Business Unit at HPCL Mr Ch. Srinivas and the General Manager International Sales at HPCL Mr Shankar Jagannathan; the Chairman of Carplan Lubricants Mr Mahen Thambiah, Managing Director Mr Andrew Perera and their team.

As the sole Distributor of HP Lubricants’ Sri Lanka franchise holder Sea World Lanka (Pvt) Ltd., Carplan Lubricants will offer a comprehensive range of products encompassing renowned brands of Automotive oils, Industrial oils and Marine oils, as well as specialty products and greases, substantially increasing quality and choice in the market and catering to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) requirements in the local automobile assembly industry.

In the automotive oils segment, the product range includes high-performance SLS-certified multi-grade oils for diesel and petrol engines, hybrid engines, motorcycles and three wheelers; manual and automatic gear oils; railroad oils, brake oils, electric vehicle compatible oils and greases and tractor oils.

Notably, HP Lubricants has OEM approvals from renowned global automotive brands such as Mercedes Benz, Rolls Royce, Porsche, Volvo, VW, Renault, Mack, CAT and Ashok Leyland. HP is also the leading supplier to JCB, Bajaj, Royal Enfield, MRF and BOSCH among other OEMs.

For the industrial sector, the HP Lubricants offering will cover rubber processing oils, hydraulic oils, industrial gear oils, compressor oils, cylinder oils, refrigerator oils, transformer oils, turbine oils, steel filing oils, wire rope oils, synthetic and food grade oils, mineral and synthetic industrial greases and sugar mill oils and greases.

Sea World Lanka will also market HP Lubricants’ high-performance specialty oils such as metal working oils, metal drawing oils, mould oils, quenching oils, rolling oils and thermic oils, in addition to a wide range of marine oils.

All HP Lubricants products are manufactured to deliver superior engine protection, fuel efficiency, wide compatibility and high performance in extreme conditions, and are environment-friendly, the company said.

For distribution, Sea World Lanka has already signed up distributors covering key cities and regions in the Western, North Western, Central and Southern provinces, and said distributors are to be appointed shortly for the other provinces.
