The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) held a milestone Continuing Professional Development program titled “Professional Development: A Holistic View on Competency Framework” on 22 December 2024 Sunday at ICMAB Ruhul Quddus Auditorium, ICMA Bhaban, Dhaka. The program also featured the unveiling of the “Handbook on ICMAB Competency Framework”, “Cost Audit Practice Manual”, & “Cash Incentive Audit Manual”
Mr. Md. Abdur Rahman Khan FCMA, Secretary, Internal Resources Division (IRD) & Chairman, National Board of Revenue (NBR) graced the occasion as Chief Guest. He praised ICMAB for its visionary initiatives and emphasized the inclusion of cost accounting education in university curricula nationwide.
Ms. Suraiya Zannath FCA, Lead Financial Management Specialist at the World Bank, attended as Special Guest. She lauded ICMAB as the pioneer in introducing a financial competency framework in South Asia, calling it a transformative resource for finance professionals.
ICMAB President, Mr. Mahtab Uddin Ahmed FCMA, encouraged CMA professionals to embrace the Competency Framework and manuals as tools to navigate the evolving global financial landscape.
Dr. Nikhil Chandra Shil FCMA, Professor of Business Administration at East West University, provided an insightful overview of the Competency Framework, highlighting its development journey and significance.
In his welcome address, Mr. Mohammed Salim FCMA, Past President and Chairman of the Cost Audit & Professional Consultancy Committee, expressed gratitude to the distinguished guests and participants for their support. The event concluded with remarks by Mr. S. M. Zahir Uddin Haider FCMA, Secretary of ICMAB, who extended special thanks to all the attendees and to the executive director for orchestrating the event.
