The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) successfully held its 53rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 27 December 2024 Friday at the Ruhul Quddus Auditorium, ICMA Bhaban, Dhaka. The event brought together members, past presidents, and council members to reflect on the Institute’s achievements and set the stage for future endeavors.
The program commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a moment of silence in honor of members who passed away in 2024. Executive Director of ICMAB, Mr. Md. Mahbub-Ul-Alam FCMA, welcomed attendees with an inspiring opening address.
ICMAB President, Mr. Mahtab Uddin Ahmed FCMA, presided over the meeting and extended heartfelt gratitude to members for their unwavering support and cooperation. He highlighted the Institute’s commitment to fostering diversity and innovation through its initiatives and accomplishments over the year. Mr. Md. Kausar Alam FCMA, Vice President, presented the activities and progress of the examination, while Mr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman FCMA, Vice President, presented the activities and development of education at the Institute.
During the meeting, Mr. S. M. Zahir Uddin Haider FCMA, Secretary, presented the functions and achievement of the year, while Mr. Abdul Matin Patwary FCMA, Treasurer, presented the audited accounts and financial reports of the Institute for the same period.
The meeting also provided a platform for members to engage in discussions on the annual report and various professional matters. Around 1,000 Fellow and Associate Members actively participated with question and answer session.
In conjunction with the AGM, the Dhaka Branch Council (DBC) election for the 2025 term was conducted. A remarkable 1,172 members cast their votes to elect 10 council members who will lead the DBC in the upcoming term.
The event underscored ICMAB’s dedication to advancing the CMA profession while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment for its members.
