The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) and the North South University (NSU) have reached a significant milestone in their commitment to academic excellence and professional advancement in accounting. On Thursday 23 January 2025, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed at the NSU premises marking a new era of collaboration and opportunity for students and professionals.
The MoU was signed by Mr. Mahtab Uddin Ahmed FCMA, President, ICMAB and Prof. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor, NSU in a ceremony witnessed by key representatives from both institutions. Among the attendees from ICMAB were Mr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman FCMA, Vice-President, Mr. Mohammed Salim FCMA, Council Member & Past President, Professor Dr. Md. Mushfiqur Rahman FCMA, Council Member of DBC and Mr. Md. Abdul Maleque, Additional Director and Head of Education Department, ICMAB.
Professor AKM Waresul Karim, Dean – School of Business & Economics (SBE), Asst. Prof. Dr. FJ Mohaimen, Chair, Department of Accounting & Finance (DAF), Dr. Md. Nurul Kabir, Associate Professor, DAF and other senior faculty members witnessed the ceremony on behalf of NSU.
This agreement paves the way for NSU students and graduates to benefit from course exemptions and admission scholarships when pursuing the CMA program. The collaboration extends beyond these benefits, with ICMAB and NSU committing to work together in areas that align with their core interests. During the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor of NSU, Prof. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury expressed his gratitude towards ICMAB and encouraged faculty members to nurture this partnership through innovative activities. ICMAB President, Mr. Mahtab Uddin Ahmed FCMA, lauded NSU for their cooperation and emphasized the partnership’s role in promoting excellence, innovation, and advancement in the accounting profession. The initiative was praised by all participants who agreed to actively work towards fulfilling the objectives set out in the MoU.
