Situated in Bolawalana, Negombo, the school’s celebratory event, ‘BAMC walk’, take place on 12th May 2018 and is anticipated to draw in strong participation from Students, Past Pupils and well-wishers.
“It is an honor for HNB to partner with Bolawalana Ave Maria Convent in Negombo, in their 20th year celebration” expressed Deputy General Manager, Retail Banking, Sanjay Wijemanne. “HNB’s relationship with the school is also 20 years and we are proud to have been their exclusive banking partner over the years, seeing the school grow and laying the foundation for a stable and secure future of a new generation”.
“We wish to congratulate Bolawalana Ave Maria Convent on the successful completion of 20 glorious years”, he added, while going on to say that moving forward, HNB would continue to explore new opportunities to deepen their engagement with the school, with a particular focus on introducing new technology-enabled banking services to the school and students, in order to make the school’s banking eco-system cashless and help prepare students for a life in an increasingly technologically oriented world.
HNB will open a student banking unit and will deploy a past pupil to be in charge. The bank will also introduce new systems such as streamlining collection of school fees through a Payee partnership plus manage staff salaries, EPF and ETF remittances as well as supplier payments through HNB Payfast. The array of HNB services will also include the introduction of its SmartPay card, so that the school would have a comprehensive banking proposition that will be convenient and less time consuming.
The HNB SmartPay card is innovative and will serve the dual purpose of an attendance recorder as well as to purchase books from the school’s bookshop and food from the school’s canteen. Students will be initiated in cashless transactions, which is the future of banking.
