We are grateful to IBSL for partnering with us in this endeavour and are confident that this program will significantly contribute to the career progression of our microfinance officers.

“We strongly believe that this Diploma in Microfinance will set new standards for professional education in this sector. It reflects our commitment to not only our staff but also to the thousands of micro-entrepreneurs and small businesses that rely on us for financial support,” said HNB Chief Operating Officer, Sanjay Wijemanne.

Currently set to include more than 130 HNB microfinance officers nationwide, this initiative represents a significant investment in the professional development of the bank’s frontline staff. These participants will engage in a rigorous curriculum to enhance their understanding of microfinance dynamics and equip them with the tools needed to support HNB’s expanding operations.

“IBSL is privileged to partner with HNB in this vital initiative, recognizing their steadfast commitment to workforce development and education. By equipping HNB’s microfinance officers with specialized knowledge, we’re not just enhancing individual skills; we’re contributing to a broader vision of financial inclusion and economic empowerment across Sri Lanka. This partnership underscores our shared belief in the transformative power of education in achieving sustainable economic progress,” said IBSL Director General CPA Karunatilake.
