As the world unites in October 2024 for World Mental Health Month, the global theme this year, “It’s Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace,” calls attention to the importance of fostering mental wellbeing in professional environments. As a thought leader in this space, Great Place To Work® is dedicated to highlighting the critical role of mental health in fostering productive, supportive, and thriving work environments and as such is taking the lead by engaging organizations across various industries to measure, assess, and improve employee wellbeing. By helping businesses understand the direct link between mental health and employee engagement, Great Place To Work® supports organizations in building a more compassionate and resilient culture.
“Employee wellbeing is a cornerstone of creating a Great Place to Work®,” said Kshanika Ratnayaka – Director/CEO of Great Place to Work – Sri Lanka. “We believe mental health is integral to overall workplace success, and we are committed to empowering organizations to prioritize employee wellbeing for a healthier, more productive workforce.”
In its ongoing efforts to promote employee wellbeing in the workplace, Great Place To Work®, in collaboration with AMCHAM & WCIC will host a Women and Wellness event on the 30th October 2024 at Cinnamon Grand Hotel. Themed “Radiance: Inner Wellness, Outer Brilliance, Balanced Future,” the event will explore the connection between inner wellbeing and outward success for women in professional settings.
The agenda includes keynote speeches, panel discussions, and roundtable sessions, all aimed at highlighting how nurturing mental and emotional health can significantly enhance both career performance and personal growth in enabling women to maximize their human potential. As part of the event, Great Place To Work® will also recognize the 15 Best Workplaces™ for Women, celebrating organizations that have excelled in creating inclusive and supportive environments for women.
Great Place To Work® also plays a pivotal role in helping organizations assess their employee wellbeing through its Wellness Study. By participating in the study, businesses can gain valuable insights into their employees’ perceptions of employee wellbeing and affects their overall workplace experience. The survey results provide actionable data that organizations can use to implement initiatives aimed at improving mental health support and creating a more positive and productive work culture. For example, employees who experience high levels of well-being in the workplace are 3 times more likely to intend to stay with their employer as well as recommend their employer to others.
Great Place To Work® will continue to lead the conversation on employee wellbeing, offering organizations the tools and insights needed to create healthier, more supportive workplaces. Their commitment to mental health advocacy and support remains a critical part of their mission to transform work cultures for the better.
