Govi.ai earns national acclaim as 2nd Runner-Up in Agri-tech Innovation at SLASSCOM Ingenuity Awards

Govi.ai, an award-winning Internet of Agriculture solution aimed at empowering the farming community, was recognised as the National 2nd Runner-up in the Best Innovative Product/Project in Agri-tech category at the Sri Lanka Association for Software and Services Companies (SLASSCOM) Ingenuity Awards 2024. govi.ai combines enterprise level technologies, such as an IoT (Internet of Things) platform, cloud analytics, and machine learning to empower farmers to make data-driven decisions on their cultivations and harvests.  govi.ai takes pride in designing and engineering the hardware, and software, components of the platform, leveraging Sri Lanka’s ICT talent with deep rooted understanding for agriculture. govi.ai caters its technologies for a wide spectrum in the agriculture sector, from smallholder farmers to research and commercial farming, from poly-tunnel to open field automation including climate control, irrigation, and fertigation; saving costs and promoting sustainable practices.

govi.ai’s IoT sensors allow for tracking real-time data on various elements such as soil conditions; monitoring soil moisture, pH, EC, and nutrient levels, allowing for targeted interventions that reduce wastage, improve efficiency, and lead to increased output and quality. These interventions, when used in conjunction with govi.ai’s irrigation and fertigation controllers give farmers a peace of mind, and drive for sustainable land management practices. The govi.ai dashboard offers real-time and historical readings on crop health, resource usage, as well as allowing for remotely managing various aspects of the farm (such as irrigation, ventilation, fertigation). These activities can be tracked, and automated, throughout the crop’s lifecycle at a granular level. Speaking on the SLASSCOM Ingenuity award, Rajive Silva, CEO of Azend Technologies stated, “This is another recognition of govi.ai‘s dedication to transforming Sri Lanka’s agricultural landscape and how we are constantly innovating our technology to empower farmers to become more informed, sustainable, and ultimately, more successful.” By using Sri Lankan engineered solutions to put actionable knowledge directly in the hands of farmers, govi.ai is paving the way for a more prosperous and sustainable future for Sri Lankan agriculture.
