Faridul Islam Rubel was honored with the “Best Playwright” award at the TRAB Award-2024 ceremony. The award was presented to him on Saturday, November 23, at a hotel in Bijoynagar, Dhaka, as part of the 25th TRAB Award-2024 event organized by the Television Reporters Association of Bangladesh (TRAB).
Faridul Islam Rubel received the award for his play Swami Bondhok (The Husband in Pawn), which was widely appreciated by both the audience and the judges for its outstanding story.
The event was attended by several notable figures, including Syed Margub Morshed, former Information Secretary, Bir Muktijoddha Mir Hasmat Ali, Justice of the Bangladesh Supreme Court, Dr. Jahangir Alam Rustam, renowned environmental scientist and world-renowned poet, Kamrul Hasan Darpan, President of BCJA, Shafiqur Rahman, Chairman of BBN News, among others.
The award was presented to Faridul Islam by famous film personality Kazi Hayat, Syed Margub Morshed, and Mir Hasmat Ali. In his acceptance speech, Rubel expressed his gratitude to the distinguished guests and said, “Those of us who write or direct plays always have dreams. This journey of dreams becomes even more meaningful when we receive recognition for it. This award will serve as a stepping stone for my future work.”
