Faridul Islam Rubel was honored with the title of Best Playwright at the 12th Bioscope Star Awards 2024. The prestigious award ceremony took place on December 24, 2024, at the Central Kochi-Kachhar Mela in the capital, Dhaka, organized by the BioScope Cultural Foundation.
At the event, Faridul Islam Rubel was presented with a commemorative trophy for Best Playwright by the chief guest, cultural figure Pirzada Shahidul Harun, and Chief Justice Siddiqur Rahman Mia (Appellate Division, Bangladesh Supreme Court). The event was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam Tamiji and chaired by Shafiqul Rahman.
In his speech, Faridul Islam Rubel expressed his gratitude for the honor. He shared, “I don’t know how refined a playwright’s writing should be to depict a character in front of the audience, but I constantly try to present it beautifully. Sometimes, real characters surpass those of imagination, which brings me immense joy. The greatest joy comes when the audience appreciates the work. I create with the audience in mind, and I will continue to maintain this approach in my future writings.”
Faridul Islam Rubel also thanked everyone present at the event.
