A group of industry-ready cybersecurity professionals recently joined the fray after completing the Cyber Futures Programme at Aion Campus, the training arm of the Sierra Group associate Aion Cyber Security (Pvt) Ltd.
The formal certificate awarding ceremony was part of an event at which Aion Campus welcomed and inducted a new batch of students for the Cyber Futures Programme, launched its website, and presented letters of employment to selected students from the past batch.
The most outstanding student of the batch that completed the Cyber Futures Programme was also presented Aion’s ‘Cyber Mastery Award’ at the event.
Cyber Futures is a one-of-a-kind six-month professional certification programme that makes it possible for students to complete individual certificates in a competitive environment, learning from industry experts and peers. The batch that graduated recently completed 238 certifications and 620 simulated laboratory sessions in total, the company said.
Another unique aspect of the programme is the opportunity it provides students to participate in publishing articles in leading international cybersecurity magazines. The passing out batch has collectively published nine articles, contributing to the global cybersecurity domain.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of Aion Cyber Security and the Sierra Group Mr Priyantha Perera said the Sierra Group has always believed in grooming local talent in multiple fields, ranging from engineering and construction to cybersecurity. “We want to mould the next generation of talent required for the growth of our country,” he said, urging students to innovate and be self-disciplined.
