Airline supports development of female cricket talent pipeline partnering with 100% Cricket Future Leaders Programme

At this year’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, Emirates is helping set players up for success with its support for the 100% Cricket Future Leaders Programme which aims to provide more world-class development opportunities to aspiring female leaders in the sport.

The 100% Cricket Campaign is dedicated to the promotion of women’s cricket, ever since its launch at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020, with the purpose of changing perceptions, creating heroes and excitement, and supporting women in cricket

To support the Future Leaders Programme’s mission, this year, Emirates will provide exclusive fares and discounts to the current cohort taking part in the 10-month programme, enabling connections to unique learning opportunities outside of their home countries, in addition to linking them to mentors to help build the next generation of female leaders within cricket.

This year’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, is taking place in the airline’s homebase of the UAE, with matches being played in Dubai and Sharjah. The World Cup has so far delivered electrifying performances. The first semi-final was played between Australia and South Africa on Thursday, 17 October, while New Zealand and West Indies go head-to-head in the second semi-final on Friday, 18 October, with the final scheduled on Sunday, 20 October.

The airline is also engaging with fans throughout the tournament with Cabin Crew roaming around at matches taking keepsake Polaroids and handing out specially designed frames, in addition to other exciting onsite activations.

Emirates reaffirmed its commitment to cricket by extending its global partnership with the ICC earlier this year, which will see the airline support 28 ICC men’s and women’s events until 2031, including the Cricket World Cup, T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy.

Already in its third decade, Emirates’ partnership with the ICC is one of the most established in world sport. The ICC partnership sees Emirates featured on the official kit of the ICC Elite and International Panels of Umpires. Alongside the Umpires, Emirates sponsors the Elite and International Panels of ICC Match Referees.

Together with branding and media exposure to cricket fans around the world, Emirates also transports umpires and referees to international events as the Global Partner of the ICC.  Emirates’ branding is also highly visible at all major events including the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, ICC Women’s T20 World Cup and the ICC World Test Championship Final.
