Eastern Province All Ceylon Open Badminton Championship set to kick off on September 19

Excitement is building as the Eastern Province Badminton Association, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Badminton, prepares to host the Eastern Province All Ceylon Open Badminton Championshipfrom September 19-24.

The championship which will take place at the state-of-the-art Mchyzer Indoor Stadium in Trincomalee, promises a diverse range of competition categories, including Open, Senior, and Junior divisions. In the junior category, young talents will compete in events for age groups under 11, 13, 15, 17, and 19, while senior players will contest under age groups for over 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, and 70.

The tournament’s open category will feature thrilling men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles matches. Furthermore, the losing singles semi-finalists will battle for the plate championship titles.

Participants will have their skills put to the test as they vie for certificates, medals, and coveted trophies. The ultimate prize, however, awaits the champions, who will be awarded a substantial cash prize of Rs. 5 lakh, adding even more intensity to the competition.
