Daraz is South Asia’s e-commerce leader that fuels e-commerce and digitalisation across four of the most exciting frontier economies in the world. Daraz’s commitment to uplift communities through technology is apparent even through their CSR initiatives carried out through Daraz Cares.

Daraz Cares is a multi-charity donation category on the Daraz platform that aims to drive positive change in the community through the power of e-commerce. Daraz Cares recently partnered with LEADS Sri Lanka (LEADS) to provide the organization with the technology and reach to raise donations and sustain the meaningful work LEADS is doing in Sri Lanka.

Through this partnership, Daraz users can purchase LEADS donation cards on the website and the Daraz mobile application. The donation cards can be purchased for multiple causes championed by LEADS, ranging from donating for reusable sanitary napkins, school bags, and books for children, to donating towards the therapeutic care for child survivors of abuse.

LEADS Sri Lanka (LEADS) is a national agency established in 1983 with a mandate to create safer spaces and brighter futures for the children of Sri Lanka. Their main focus is on child protection and the promotion of children’s rights. The organisation provides restorative care for survivors of child abuse and works to raise awareness of child abuse and on ways to help survivors among underserved communities across the island.

LEADS serves the community with a specialised team of mental health practitioners and equipped caregivers to provide for the psychosocial needs of child survivors of abuse. They facilitate residential and non-residential therapeutic care through LEADS’ centres in Jaffna, Badulla, and Colombo to ensure that young survivors receive holistic restorative care.

LEADS also provides legal aid and guidance throughout the legal processes, with the aim of supporting children and minimising the re-victimisation of child survivors of abuse. It conducts follow-up counselling with the children’s families so survivors can return to a safe and secure environment, and with proper reintegration support, LEADS ensures that the children return to normalcy either by returning to school or receiving the vocational training needed to build a better future for themselves.

Other LEADS programmes include working to end period poverty and raising funds to finance the education and nutrition needs of children in Sri Lanka.

Daraz Cares invites its users and all with a passion for making a change in the lives of children to join the LEADS initiatives today and support its multiple causes on Daraz Cares. For more information on LEADS, visit the website via https://www.leads.lk/.

Change a life, make a difference, and donate today!
