In a significant initiative identifying the vital role of remittances in Sri Lanka’s economy, DFCC Bank has announced an exciting reward scheme to incentivise worker remittances sent through Lanka Money Transfer to DFCC accounts. The promotion will substantially benefit Sri Lankan nationals working abroad and their families back home during the promotional period until 31st January 2025. This promotion highlights the bank’s commitment to supporting its customers and aims to stimulate economic growth in Sri Lanka while encouraging remittances via legal platforms.

During this period, DFCC Bank will reimburse LKR 2,000 from the transaction fee for remittances received to DFCC accounts through Lanka Money Transfer, with a minimum transfer amount of LKR 50,000 per transaction. The customer’s eligibility for rewards is limited to two monthly transactions. The total reward will be credited to customers’ LKR accounts the following month.

The scheme is open to all Sri Lankan nationals working abroad who remit to their DFCC Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR) or Foreign Currency (FCY) accounts via Lanka Money Transfer. If remittances are received to an FCY account, the reward will be credited to the customer’s LKR account.

To make this reward scheme even more appealing, DFCC Bank will offer a return air ticket to the beneficiary with the highest number of remittances made during the promotional period. This reflects DFCC Bank’s dedication to promoting legitimate money transfers through secure banking channels while honoring Sri Lankans who actively contribute to the growth of the local economy by remitting funds back home.

As worker remittances are a crucial lifeline for many families in Sri Lanka, we take this opportunity to invite all Sri Lankans around the world to remit funds via DFCC Remittances to the DFCC account and reap this benefit while contributing to the Sri Lankan economy as remittances are paramount for economic resilience.

“Worker remittances represent a crucial component of Sri Lanka’s foreign currency earnings, and we are proud to provide an opportunity to acknowledge and reward the hard work of Sri Lankans overseas,” said Anton Arumugam – Senior Vice President of Offshore Banking, Remittance & Business Development at DFCC Bank. “Through this reward scheme, DFCC Bank aims to encourage more remittances to be routed through our channels, thus benefiting both the senders and their beneficiaries. We also look forward to boosting the local economy, promoting sustainable practices while strengthening the DFCC brand and expanding our loyal customer base.”

This initiative reaffirms DFCC Bank’s commitment to providing tailored solutions for Sri Lankans working abroad, supporting their financial needs, and encouraging their valuable contribution to Sri Lanka’s economy.
