A brightly lit open double decker bus driven around the city, with a choir singing Christmas Carols, became a common sight in the past few weeks in the city of Colombo and Negombo. Initiated by Daraz, the #darazcarolingbus took to the streets every weekend evening, greeting holiday shoppers at various places in the city. People flocked around the bus to enjoy the singing and received gifts from Santa, adding to the magic of the season.

“The past couple of years have been hard on everyone, and people look forward to the holiday season with hope. Along with the Daraz Grand Christmas Sale, we decided that it would be great to do something different and reach out to the public as we spread the magic of Christmas. It has been a great experience so far, as we see people enjoying the whole event; they come to listen to the carols, and the waves and smiles as the bus passes are moments that truly make us happy because we realize we have brought them joy,” commented Heshan Perera, Head of Marketing at Daraz.

Daraz continues to make online shopping in Sri Lanka a one-of-a-kind experience for its users, as it takes entertainment and customer engagement to a different level. The #darazcarolingbus is yet another novel feat for the largest online shopping platform in the country, as it strengthens the concept of shoppertainment among its users.
