CSE’s Third ‘Beyond Basics’ Forum to focus on Fundamentals of Climate Disclosure and Action

-CSE’s upcoming governance forum titled ‘Beyond Basics: Setting Standards for Climate Disclosure and Action’

-The forum will be held virtually on 9th August 2022, from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

-Registrations opened out to both listed and non-listed companies 

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) will be conducting ‘Beyond Basics’ for the third time, titled ‘Beyond Basics: Setting Standards for Climate Disclosure and Action’. The forum will offer participants an in-depth understanding of the fundamentals and best practices of climate reporting, delivered through a panel of renowned local and global Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) experts. The forum is set to take place on 9th August 2022 from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and will be conducted via Microsoft Teams to enable convenient access to participants. The platform anticipates bringing together listed and non-listed company Chairpersons, CEOs & CFOs, Executive and Non-Executive Directors, Senior Management, as well as ESG & Sustainability Leads and representatives.

The half-day forum will comprise insightful presentations on ‘Connecting the Dots between Climate Action and Disclosure’; ‘Assessing the Climate Impact of your Business & Setting Effective Standards’; ‘The Corporate Approach to Transparency in Climate Reporting’, and a moderated panel discussion on ‘Climate Disclosure & Action – Why Greater Transparency is Vital’.

The speakers for ‘Beyond Basics’ include Dr. Ananda Mallawatantri, Country Representative for the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Ms. Tiffany Grabski, Academy Head at UN Sustainable Stock Exchange Initiative, Mr. Sanith de S. Wijeyeratne, Director/CEO at The Climate & Conservation Consortium, Mr. Nishantha Hewavithana, Senior Vice President – Research & Strategy at CSE, Mr. Vadakepatth Nandkumar, Advisor – Sustainability Services at DNV Business Assurance India Pvt. Ltd., Ms. Paula Hermogenes Gomes, Circular Economy Manager at British American Tobacco, Ms. Anosha Koralage, Group Head of Sustainability, Enterprise Risk Management & Group Initiatives at John Keells Holdings, and Ms. Imanthi Perera, Corporate Affairs Manager at Ceylon Tobacco Company PLC.
