In-Cube Student Coworking Open Space at Creative Software (LBN)

Creative Software, a pioneer and leader in Sri Lanka’s software industry, launched ‘Spark In-Cube,’ a dedicated coworking space exclusively designed for university students. This initiative provides students with a vibrant and collaborative environment to conveniently carry out their project work, assignments, educational meetups and much more.

Spark In-Cube, located in Creative Software’s head office in Colombo 3, offers flexible workstations that prioritise open communication, teamwork, networking, and activity-based learning. This coworking space serves as an incubator for idea generation and provides an excellent platform for students to connect and learn in a professional setting.

To facilitate seamless access, a real-time calendar booking facility will be shared with all universities, allowing students to reserve a slot based on availability. The utilisation of this space is free of charge. The management team at Creative Software strongly encourages groups to make use of the area, as collaboration lies at the core of this initiative.

Creative Software Manager University Relations and Employer Branding Karen Ebert shares her vision for the Spark In-Cube space, stating, “Building upon the success of our internship program ‘Spark,’ we envision Spark In-Cube as the ideal space for university students to bring ideas to life. It serves as a place away from the campus grounds, instilling students with confidence as they gradually transition into the tech industry. This innovative space facilitates academic pursuits and encourages students to actively engage in idea generation and problem-solving, potentially fostering partnerships with Creative Software through our incubator for new business ideas.”

The coworking space is strategically located in the heart of the city. It provides essential amenities such as free Wi-Fi, a game area, and a cafeteria with modern facilities, creating an open office environment. Furthermore, students have the unique opportunity to request mentoring sessions from experienced professionals at Creative Software, enhancing their learning experience.

Creative Software Director of Software Engineering Channa De Silva, sheds light on why the company is spearheading this initiative: “At Creative Software, we have a strong commitment to empowering the next generation of talent and ensuring a smooth transition from academia to the professional world. Our goal is to bridge the gap between education and industry by offering a dedicated coworking space for university students at our office premises to enhance engagement. In this professional yet fun atmosphere, students have the opportunity to develop practical and soft skills while exploring various opportunities, including those within Creative Software if they are passionate innovators.”
