The Commercial Bank of Ceylon has partnered with Visa, the global leader in digital payments, to offer a 30% cash-back to cardholders who pay with their Visa cards for transactions conducted on the LANKAQR platform via the Q+ Payment App.

The promotion which will run till 31st March 2022, is the first ever Visa campaign in Sri Lanka to promote LANKAQR transactions among Commercial Bank Visa Cardholders. Customers can visit the offer page on the Bank’s website www.combank.lk under ‘Rewards and Promotions’ to view the terms and conditions. Notably, Commercial Bank Visa cardholders can avail of this promotion by using the Q+ Payment App to scan the LANKAQR of any bank that is enabled with Visa acceptance.

During the promotion period,  customers with Commercial Bank Visa Credit, Debit, or Prepaid Cards who scan any Visa enabled LANKAQR via the Q+ Payment App to pay for their purchases can enjoy the 30% cash-back, up to a maximum of Rs 300 off per transaction, on the first three transactions initiated through a Visa Card during the promotional period. Customers who pay their Mobitel bills by scanning the QR code in the statement through Q+ Payment App are also eligible for this cash-back offer.

Commenting on the launch of the campaign to promote LANKAQR payments for Visa cardholders, Commercial Bank’s Deputy General Manager Marketing Mr Hasrath Munasinghe said: “Besides encouraging cashless transactions, the promotion benefits customers by giving them the opportunity to experience touch-less transactions that are among the safest payment options today. The Q+ Payment App also provides customers immediate notifications of transactions, as well as the convenience of paying from the comfort and safety of their homes at any time.”

Ms Avanthi Colombage, Visa’s Country Manager – Sri Lanka and Maldives, said: “QR payments are a simple, asset-light payment method for both consumers and merchants. We are delighted to partner with Commercial Bank of Ceylon to enable their cardholders to make digital payments with the ease, security and convenience that Visa has to offer. We hope this helps a large number of consumers use digital payments via their Visa cards on the Bank’s Q+ Payment App.”

Q+ Payment App was the first Quick Response (QR) based payment app to be launched on the LANKAQR platform and offers options for both retail customers and merchants. All recently launched Point-of-Sale (POS) machines deployed by the Bank are enabled with LANKAQR functionality.

Commercial Bank Credit and Debit Cards offer year-round promotions covering a wide variety of services. Commercial Bank was the first bank to offer loyalty rewards for both Credit and Debit Card holders under its Max Loyalty Rewards Points scheme. The Bank was also a pioneer in extending promotional discount offers which were traditionally only offered for Credit Cards to its Debit Cards.

Sri Lanka’s first fully carbon neutral bank, the first Sri Lankan bank to be listed among the Top 1000 Banks of the World and the only Sri Lankan bank to be so listed for 11 years consecutively, Commercial Bank operates a network of 268 branches and 931 automated machines in Sri Lanka.
