Closing Ceremony of BCSIR Science & Industrial Technology Fair 2024

Bangladesh Council of Science and Industry Research (BCSIR) Science and Industry Technology Fair organized b school-college students and self-educated scientists for the development of science and technology Ended on 03 February 2024 at the Dhanmondi campus of the council.

Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapas, Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation, attended the closing ceremony of this meeting of young scientists as the chief guest and distributed prizes and certificates to the contestants. He is a scientist of BCSIR who was killed on December 14 Martyred Intellectuals Day. Paying respect to Amin Uddin and other deceased scientists, he said to the current young scientists that science is a subject that applies to all areas of life. There is no substitute for interest and fascination in science. According to him, hidden in today’s child are unknown famous scientists and technologists of the future. He urged the scientists of the council to give special attention to do everything that BCSIR can do to make these children proficient in science research.



 

 

Ferdous Ahmed MP was the special guest. He said that the resources devoted to the practice of science never end, rather it increases at a geometric rate. The more science-minded our children are, the stronger Bangladesh will move forward. Based on the Prime Minister’s speech, he further said that there is no alternative to scientific research in building a smart Bangladesh.

Director of Children’s Health Research Foundation and renowned microbiological scientist Dr. Senjuti Saha. she said, our forefathers have taken away the freedom of this country by giving their blood. The time has come to repay their blood debt. I believe that their blood debt can be repaid to some extent by forming a prosperous Bangladesh by fulfilling the responsibilities and duties assigned to us.

In the speech of the president, the chairman of the council, Professor Dr. Md. Aftab Ali Sheikh said to the young scientists that one cannot become a science researcher if one stays away from science for the remaining 362 days after participating in a 3-day science fair. You can show the nation a new light. That’s why you have to be prepared. You will overcome all the obstacles on the way. BCSIR is always by your side to make your journey more beautiful and smooth.

Organized for 3 days (February 1-3), 68 projects of 63 institutions in different groups were displayed in this small science fair, in which about 197 small scientists participated.

In the closing ceremony, among others, young scientists, teachers, parents, invited guests and scientists, officers and employees of the council were present.
