Closing Ceremony of 45th National Science & Technology Week and Science Fair

The 45th National Science and Technology Week and Science Fair concluded with various colorful events and competitions. The 2-day event (11-12 June 2024) organized by the National Science and Technology Museum included Science Olympiad, Quiz, Science Drama and Exhibition of various scientific innovative projects. More than 7 hundred contestants from 64 districts of Bangladesh participated in the central competition for the last 2 days. Students, young scientists, inventors, teachers and parents were walking around the National Science and Technology Complex building. National Science and Technology Museum provides safe accommodation and healthy entertainment for all.



 

Minister of Science and Technology Architect Yafes Osman was present as the chief guest at the closing and prize distribution ceremony held on Wednesday12June 2024 at the National Science and Technology Complex Building in Dhaka. Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology Md. Ali Hossain and former Vice-Chancellor of BUET were present as special guests. Md. Nazrul Islam. Apart from that, heads of various organizations of the Ministry of Science and Technology were also present. Additional Secretary of Ministry of Science and Technology and Director General (Additional Charge) of National Science and Technology Museum Md. Abdur Razzak presided over the event.

Speaking as the chief guest, architect Yafes Osman said, “There is an immense potential hidden in today’s young society. Our boys and girls are not behind other nations in terms of intelligence and skills. If the right direction and environment can be ensured, this generation inspired by science will take the country to unique heights. Through this, the father of the nation’s dream of Sonar Bangla will be realized.

Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology Md. Ali Hossain said that the present government’s promise is that this young generation will play a leading role in building a smart Bangladesh in 2041. The country will reach the pinnacle of development only through the innovative thinking and practice of science and technology of today’s small scientists and inventors.

Director General of National Science and Technology Museum, Md. Abdur Razzak, said that since its inception, Science Museum has been working to spread science education among students. As part of this, since 1978, the institute has been celebrating the National Science and Technology Week across the country. Through this, students from remote areas of the country are getting an opportunity to involve themselves in science practice.

A total of 46 winning contestants were awarded crests, certificates, prize bonds and cash incentives at the event. This science fair basically becomes a unique competition of talent, knowledge and talent of young and small scientists, which will affect the development of Bangladesh and the overall economy.
