Colombo, Tuesday 11th October 2022: Cinnamon Grand Colombo along with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) and Ceylon Tours organized an ‘Evening of Appreciation’ on the 6th of October 2022 at Nuga Gama to celebrate the success of the Indian Road Show organized by Sri Lanka Tourism. The cocktail was graced by Minister Harin Fernando-Minister of Tourism and Lands, Chalaka Gajabahu-Chairman, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, Thisum Jayasuriya-Chairman, Sri Lanka Convention Bureau as well as the travel agents and hoteliers who took part in the Indian Road Show.
Kamal Munasinghe, Area Vice President Cinnamon City Hotels speaking on the event stated that “It is important to come together as the hospitality industry to promote Sri Lanka and bring it to its highest potential. The Indian market is an important segment for us, and we are very grateful to the Ministry of Tourism and its stakeholders for seeing the potential and organizing a highly successful Road Show. We are looking forward to capitalizing on the results of the event.”
The Indian Road Show took place from the 26th to the 30th of September as a series of road shows in key Indian cities. The minister and team led over 50 local travel agents and hoteliers through the tour of India. This was an initiative to promote an array of tourism experiences for potential travelers and an exercise to develop networks and partnerships between the nations and build upon 80,000 tourist arrivals generated from India currently.
