The University of Wolverhampton MBA is very popular among professionals with more than 500 registrations across 14 intakes so far” he added. CINEC strives to maintain highest quality standards in all its programmes said Capt. Peiris, reiterating CINEC’s aim of producing well-rounded graduates keeping in line with “Beyond a Graduate” concept. He further said that CINEC Campus – Metro Branch will focus more on industry-relevant postgraduate programmes that have a demand in both Sri Lanka and abroad. As such, the four new degree programmes namely, BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying (Top-up), Master of Laws (LLM), MSc Cyber Security and MSc Project Management were selected to be conducted from October 2023 onwards. Capt. Ajith Peiris invited prospective candidates to take maximum benefit from these internationally recognized degrees.

Prof. Chaminda Pathirage, who represented University of Wolverhampton expressed his delight to be officiating the event. He said “The academic collaboration between CINEC and University of Wolverhampton is something close to my heart especially as a person of Sri Lankan origin. It gives me great pleasure to be in CINEC to launch these new programmes”. Prof. Pathirage, in his presentation, described the huge investment University of Wolverhampton had made in the recent past on developing the infrastructure and research facilities at University of Wolverhampton. “These would in turn benefit CINEC students too as we aim to enhance knowledge transfer between University of Wolverhampton academics and CINEC academic community that includes staff as well as students”, he added. Prof. Pathirage assured his support in all possible ways to CINEC and wished that the collaboration between University of Wolverhampton and CINEC will progress further in the future, adding more academic programmes to the present portfolio.

Speaking at this launch event Mr. Chandima H. de Silva, Head of CINEC Campus – Metro Branch and Associate Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, thanked University of Wolverhampton for approving the four new programmes within a short period of time to be delivered at CINEC Campus – Metro Branch. “It is in the backdrop of successful delivery of the University of Wolverhampton MBA that we hope to conduct these new programmes” he added. The three major reasons for the success of the MBA, according to Mr. de Silva, are the unblemished reputation in education of CINEC Campus for the last thirty three years, arguably the best panel of lecturers comprising many university professors and senior professionals and the excellent students’ support CINEC provides until they graduate. “Our excellent degree completion rate and commendable results of our students speak volumes on the standards that we maintain at CINEC” said Mr. de Silva. He thanked the Vice Chancellor, Deans, Heads of Schools, Link Tutors, other academic and non-academic staff at University of Wolverhampton for their prompt support and assistance.
