CFA Society Sri Lanka to host Inaugural CFO Forum: “Riding the Challenges towards the Opportunity”

CFA Society Sri Lanka is pleased to announce its inaugural CFO Forum titled “Riding the Challenges towards the Opportunity,” on Tuesday, 16th July 2024, from 7:30 am to 9:30 am at the Kings Court, Cinnamon Lakeside, Colombo. This exclusive event targets CFOs, and senior finance professionals, providing a platform to discuss and navigate the challenges faced by businesses in the current economic landscape.

 



 

The forum will feature a panel discussion focusing on critical issues such as the primary macro and micro challenges confronting CFOs in Sri Lanka, strategic planning in a declining interest rate environment, identifying and capitalizing on major growth opportunities, leveraging rapidly evolving technology while managing associated risks, and integrating sustainability into financial decision-making.

Proposed panelists include distinguished finance leaders: Nandika Buddhipala, CFO, Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC, Mohan Thanthirige, Group Financial Controller, John Keells Holdings PLC, Maninda Wickramasinghe, MD, Fitch Ratings and Fadhil Jiffry, Director / CFO, Sri Lanka and Co-Head of LSEG Finance Centre of Excellence.  The discussion will be moderated by Chamara Gunetileke, CFA, Senior Director, Specialized Solutions, Acuity Knowledge Partners.

Aruna Perera, CFA,  President of CFA Society Sri Lanka, commented on the significance of the event: “In these times of economic uncertainty, CFOs are at the forefront, navigating their organizations through uncharted waters. Our forum aims to equip finance leaders with the insights and strategies needed to turn challenges into opportunities.”
