CFA Society Sri Lanka join forces to shed light on Global Ethics Day with a webinar on Taking Ethical Action in the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big data & Internet of Things (IoT)

 




 

 

CFA Society Sri Lanka which is the local arm of CFA Institute has planned to celebrate this year’s Global Ethics Day with a webinar on Taking Ethical Action in the age of AI, Big data & IoT on Monday, 25th October 2021 from 6.00 pm onwards SL Time with a view to exploring how businesses are preparing for an ethical future in the face of threats and challenges presented by globalization, technology and human psychology. Spokesperson from CFA Society Sri Lanka said that ‘This day is to remind individuals and businesses of their ethical responsibilities and highlight why doing the right thing is so important and  this is why CFA Society Sri Lanka is organizing this event to shine a spotlight on all things ethical’.

Dinesh Warusavitharana CFA, President CFA Society Sri Lanka said “At CFA Institute, ethics and professionalism have always been an integral part of our curriculum and are core to our life as a professional membership body and we are pleased to promote Global Ethics Day. We, at CFA Society Sri Lanka, in line with CFA Institute, seek to promote the highest standards of ethics, education, and professional excellence in the Investment Management Industry.”

Dr Alan Lok, CFA, FRM, Director- Ethics Education & Professional Standards, Asia Pacific at CFA Institute will be the main speaker whilst Aruna Perera, CFA, Vice President, CFA Society Sri Lanka and Director Corporate Finance and Valuation Consulting PwC will moderate the session.  Dr Lok said that  “We are on the verge of witnessing the revolutionary amalgamation between AI, Big Data & IoT. 10 years down the road, it is very likely that the bulk of decision making impacting our daily lives will be directly generated by automation and machine. Can machines handle the associated ethical dilemmas? What will the real-world look like?” In this upcoming webinar by Dr Alan Lok, he will be exploring how the near future will look like while also introducing the relevant framework to handle ethical dilemmas.
