
CFA Society Sri Lanka (CFASSL) hosted its annual Charter Awards Ceremony and Oration on 26th March 2025 at the Lotus Hall, Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Colombo. The event celebrated the achievements of 21 new CFA charterholders and 02 candidates who completed the CFA Program and would be eligible to receive the charter upon meeting the work experience requirements. It brought together CFA members, graduates, families, leading employers, CFASSL partners, academics, and media representatives.
In a special video message, Margaret Franklin, CFA, President & CEO of CFA Institute, emphasized the global impact and responsibility that comes with the CFA designation:
“The CFA credential is truly global and widely recognized as a mark of grit, expertise, and professional excellence. As charterholders, you will uphold the highest standards of ethics and play a critical role in shaping the future of our industry. The world needs investment professionals like you to drive meaningful change and tackle some of the greatest financial challenges ahead.”
Rashmi Peiris Paranavitane, CFA, President of CFA Society Sri Lanka, reinforced the significance of the CFA qualification, stating:
“The CFA credential is the professional standard of choice across the global financial and investment industry. It serves as a global passport, opening doors for professionals to thrive in finance and investment roles worldwide.”
Delivering the keynote address as Chief Guest and Orator, Vindhya Jayasekera, CFA, Chief Executive Officer – Designate, Colombo Stock Exchange, highlighted the role of CFA charterholders in shaping Sri Lanka’s corporate sector:
“CFA charterholders today hold key positions across leading Sri Lankan corporates, a testament to the program’s relevance in an evolving business landscape. Employers value these professionals for their ability to uphold the highest standards of ethics, education, and professional excellence while driving corporate growth and attracting global investments.”
