CFA Society Sri Lanka and SLID renew their collaboration

CFA Society Sri Lanka and The Sri Lanka Institute of Directors (SLID) recently renewed their collaborative partnership for the 4th consecutive year to facilitate collaboration between the two professional bodies.

The MoU between CFA Society Sri Lanka and SLID will pave the way to jointly promote corporate governance, and share knowledge and experiences. Both bodies will work jointly to organize events including seminars and workshops for the benefit of members of both bodies.

The MoU was officially signed by Aruna Perera, CFA, President of CFA Society Sri Lanka and Faizal Salieh, Chairman SLID, Rizan Jiffrey, Chief Executive Officer, SLID and Aruna Alwis, CEO of CFA Society Sri Lanka were also present

Aruna Perera, CFA said ‘We are delighted to mark the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding between the organizations. CFA Society Sri Lanka and SLID share the same values and we certainly have similarities in our missions. This will pave the way to formally mark our future cooperation and we look forward to partnering with SLID as we jointly work to enhance the knowledge of our respective members”

Faizal Salieh, Chairman SLID noted that “This MoU will open new avenues of opportunity for members of both our bodies. The current challenging economic environment requires members to sharpen their skills to drive their business and this MOU will help to cooperate and collaborate with CFA Society Sri Lanka  within the scope of our respective mandates and areas of competencies for the mutual benefit of both our members”

Founded in 2001, CFA Society Sri Lanka is a not-for-profit organization supporting the professional development and advancement of CFA charter holders and candidates in Sri Lanka.  Their membership of over 275 members consists of CEOs, CFOs, portfolio managers, equity analysts, banking professionals, investment advisors, and other senior-ranking financial practitioners and over 500 candidates, mainly in the financial sector.

SLID has a membership of over 900 senior Directors and Executives from the both private and public sectors and, is the premier body for Company Directors in Sri Lanka promoting good governance across boardrooms.
