CFA Institute has announced that membership dues for its members in  Sri Lanka will be waived for the year from 1st July 2022 to 30th June 2023. This decision has been made to support its local members in view of the ongoing crisis in Sri Lanka.

Commenting on the decision, Arati Porwal, Director-Society Relations, CFA Institute, said that “We have been monitoring with concern as the political and economic situation in Sri Lanka continues to unfold, and our first thought was the safety and wellbeing of CFA Institute charterholders, members, candidates, volunteers, and Society staff.  We hope we have been able to support our members in the least possible manner during this challenging period. Sri Lanka is an important market for the CFA Institute, founded in 2001, with a membership of over 250 members at present consisting of CEOs, CFOs, portfolio managers, equity analysts, banking professionals, investment advisors, and other senior-ranking financial practitioners and over  300 candidates, mainly in the financial sector”

Dinesh Warusavitharana CFA, President, CFA Society Sri Lanka said ‘’On behalf of the Board and members, I thank CFA Institute very sincerely for this kind gesture towards Sri Lanka and its members at this difficult time. This reaffirms the CFA Institute’s commitment to our country and the well-being of its members’’.
