Ceylinco Life has been voted Sri Lanka’s most popular life insurance company in 2021 and was presented the SLIM Kantar Peoples Award for a record 16th consecutive year at the awards gala hosted by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) on 21st March 2022.

This remarkable achievement makes Ceylinco Life the only company in its sector to win the coveted SLIM Peoples Award every year since the inception of the awards programme.

The unequivocal confirmation of Ceylinco Life’s popularity came just weeks after the Company’s status as the market leader in Sri Lanka’s life insurance industry for the 18th consecutive year was affirmed by its financial results for 2021.

A hallmark awards event of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing, the Peoples Awards programme is the result of a collaboration between the Institute and Kantar Group, UK. The award winners are chosen solely by people’s votes, through country-wide research conducted by Kantar. The awards honour the country’s top brands across multiple sectors each year, with respondents to the survey asked to mention their favourite brands and personalities across various categories.

“Popularity is a fickle thing, which makes being voted the people’s favourite life insurance company for an uninterrupted 16 years an amazing achievement,” Ceylinco Life General Manager – Marketing Mr Samitha Hemachandra commented. “This is an inspiring public endorsement of how Ceylinco Life is consistently doing things right as it carries out its mission of helping Sri Lankans de-risk their future through the safety net of life insurance. The brand’s continuing popularity will further strengthen our resolve as well as our ability to help millions of Sri Lankans secure their future with a trusted life insurance partner.”

The 2022 SLIM Peoples Awards presentation was the sixth year that the awards in the insurance sector were presented separately to Life and General Insurance companies, following the segregation of these segments of insurance by law in 2015. In the 10 years that preceded the segregation, Ceylinco Insurance PLC comprising of Ceylinco Life and Ceylinco General Insurance, won the award every year.

Ceylinco Life ended 2021 with assets of Rs 173.7 billion, total income of Rs 40.7 billion, premium income of Rs 25.5 billion, a Life Fund of Rs 119.6 billion and an investment portfolio with a value in excess of Rs 154.4 billion.

Adjudged Sri Lanka’s Service Brand of the Year by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) and named the ‘Most Popular Service Provider’ in Sri Lanka’s Life Insurance industry in 2021 by LMD, Ceylinco Life has been the country’s leading life insurer for more than half of the 34 years it has been in existence. The company was ranked the ‘Most Valuable Life Insurance Brand’ in Sri Lanka by Brand Finance also in 2021, during which it was also named one of the 10 Most Admired Companies in Sri Lanka by the International Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka (ICCSL) in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), was certified as a ‘Great Workplace’ in Sri Lanka by Great Place to Work® and was named the ‘Best Life Insurer in Sri Lanka’ for the eighth consecutive year by World Finance.

Ceylinco Life has close to a million lives covered by active policies and provides innovative life insurance solutions, which offer protection while de-risking the goals and ambitions of the Company’s policyholders.
