Wednesday, June 21 2016, Colombo : The intercompany soft ball six-a-side Cricket tournament for the staff of CAL (Capital Alliance) was held recently at the Buddhadasa grounds in Colombo to promote a spirit of camaraderie and fellowship.
The keenly contested affair where six teams competed for the inaugural “CAL PL 2017” trophy included the teams, Fine Legs, No Chance, Doosraz, Strikers, Crazy Wombats, Muppets. The team “Doosraz” emerged victorious at the finals against “Fine Legs”, who competed hard to emerge as the runners up.
“Doosraz”, the winning team consisted of Prasad Fernando (Admin), Ravindu Kottahachchi (Software Development), Neshan Nilaksha (Admin), Kapila Weerasinghe (Stock Broking), Mohan Tharindu (IT Dept), Rasitha Gunawardana (Stock Broking), Ariyadasa Ashok (Software Development) and was managed by Harinlal Athurupane and Chanaka Sanoj.
The entire 6-a-side Cricket tournament was a fun filled affair and CAL Recreation Club plans to make this an annual event to be looked forward to by all the employees each year.
