CA Sri Lanka’s YCAF celebrates its 10th anniversary

The Young Chartered Accountants’ Forum (YCAF) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) recently celebrated its 10th anniversary.

The event was held alongside the YCAF Annual General Meeting in early December under the patronage of Mr. Manil Jayesinghe, President of CA Sri Lanka and Mr. Sanjaya Bandara, Vice President of CA Sri Lanka, while Mr. Chevaan Daniel, Executive Group Director of Capital Maharaja Group, delivered the keynote speech.

Members of the Council, Past Presidents, as well as Ms. Dulani Fernando, CEO of CA Sri Lanka, also attended the event, while the participants connected with the event virtually.

At the event, the YCAF Governing Council for the term 2020–2021, led by the new President, – Mr. J.M. Fazeer, was inducted by outgoing President Ms. Jani Ganeshan.

Mr. Chevaan Daniel delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking keynote titled “Our Promised Land – The Potential of a Nation at the Centre of the World”, evoking a sense of pride and a call for action to young professionals to harness their potential as a promise towards our country.

YCAF was initiated by Founding President, Dr. Chamara Bandara, with the purpose of uplifting the quality of Chartered Accountants of CA Sri Lanka while endeavoring to enhance the public image of Chartered Accountants.

Outgoing President, Ms. Jani Ganeshan, recalled the initiatives taken by YCAF during her tenure, including welcoming new members at freshers’ eve, physical knowledge forums, outbound training, and CSR activities.

The incumbent President, Mr. J.M. Fazeer, shared in his address how his team adopted to the new normal due to COVID-19 and successfully delivered 15 virtual knowledge forums supporting members with their continuous professional development, while also sharing future plans of YCAF.

To commemorate its 10th anniversary, YCAF also launched its official YouTube Channel.
