The advisor made these points in the speech of the chief guest at an information workshop organized by the Directorate of Land Records and Survey at Tejgaon Land Building in Dhaka on 24 September 2024 Tuesday. About 100 officials and employees of the Ministry of Lands, the Directorate and the field level held a professional open discussion meeting. He shed light on the institutional crisis and problems.
Under the chairmanship of Director General of Land Records and Survey Department Anis Mahmud, Secretary of Land Ministry Md Khalilur Rahman, Land Appeal Board Chairman Muhammad Ibrahim and Land Reforms Board Chairman Md Abdus Sabur Mandal spoke as special guests in the event.
The land adviser highlighted his professional work experience in the law-court arena and said that the land-related cases have put the judiciary in a difficult challenge. He advised the survey directorate to organize area-based participatory workshops at the grassroots level to reduce such cases. He also said that since 2013, since no manpower has been appointed in the Directorate of Land Records and Survey, the activities of the institution are facing a crisis. To get out of this, we need to move forward by determining the integrated strategy. He thanked all the participants in the workshop and urged them to reflect the knowledge gained at the field level for public welfare.
