Amana Takaful Life PLC (ATL) reaffirmed its commitment to the future of its policyholders’ children by successfully organising the ATL “Adhyapana Plus” Children’s Day Art Competition 2019.
At ATL, giving back to communities, especially children, has played an important role in the company’s goal to ensure a brighter future that is open to all possibilities. ATL organized this art competition with the aim of fostering the creative talents of the children of the Adhyapana Plus policyholders, while also celebrating “World Children’s Day 2019” which was celebrated in Sri Lanka on 1st October. The competition was a resounding success with over 3,000 creative entries from across the island sent in by enthusiastic children of policyholders.
Adhyapana Plus is a unique child education plan that provides comprehensive insurance cover for both the parent/guardian and the child. It assures long-term protection, savings and investment to help finance the child’s higher education. The key feature of Adhyapana Plus is that it always guarantees an uninterrupted investment plan for the child. In the event the family is faced with the unfortunate demise of the insurer, ATL will continue to invest on behalf of the child till he/she reaches the age of 18, thereby ensuring that there is no disruption or reduction in the child’s investment for the future.
Open to children of all ATL Adhyapana Plus policyholders islandwide, the competition was held under three age categories with a different theme for each category – “My Family” (3 to 6 years), “What I want to be when I grow up” (7 to 12 years) and “We are all Sri Lankans” (13 to 15 years). The children were given the freedom to express themselves on an A4 sheet using any colouring material of their choice.
An extension of the closing date was granted due to an overwhelming response from parents who were very keen to enter their children’s creations into the competition. The children’s enthusiasm demonstrated that showing their creativity using art was close to their heart while it also conveyed their appreciation to ATL for giving them a platform to express themselves freely. A panel of experts consisting of art teachers and leading professionals reviewed the drawings.
The award ceremony to recognise and reward the most outstanding creations, held on 1st October 2019 at the Mandarina Hotel, was attended by winners from each category and their parents. In the 3 to 6 years age category, M. Litheckshan, T. Kavishan and P. Hashnika were adjudged the winners. In the 7 to 12 years age category, Kenolee Thisansa, F. Shaza and K.
