
Amana Bank is honoured to announce its remarkable achievements at the recently concluded IFFSA Awards 2024, which recognised the best non-interest based Islamic banking and financial institutions across South Asia. The Bank secured four prestigious accolades, including the pinnacle award for Islamic Finance Entity of Year (Gold) and Islamic Bank of the Year (Gold), testifying Amana Bank leadership status for not only in Sri Lanka but for the South Asian region in the Islamic finance industry. In addition to the above, Amana Bank was also bestowed the Gold Award for Spirt of Islamic Finance and in recognition of the Bank’s sustainability efforts, it walked away with the inaugural ESG Award.
The IFFSA Awards, held annually, celebrate excellence and innovation in South Asian Islamic banking and finance sector with entries submitted from leading practitioners in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Maldives, India and other South Asian countries.

The awards ceremony was held alongside the 9th Islamic Finance Forum South Asia (IFFSA) at Shangri-La, Colombo. The forum brought together delegates and speakers from across the region, including Pakistan, Malaysia, Maldives, Bangladesh, and South Africa. Mohamed Azmeer represented Amana Bank and Sri Lanka at the event, participating as a panellist to share insights into the evolving landscape of Islamic finance and its potential to foster sustainable development.
