Allianz Lanka, one of Sri Lanka’s leading insurers and a member of the global insurance giant, Allianz SE, reaffirms its commitment to supporting mental health and suicide prevention in Sri Lanka as a Gold Sponsor of the highly noteworthy 1333 Bikeathon “Out of the Shadows”. This inspiring initiative, supported by Allianz Lanka and organized by the Courage Compassion Commitment (CCC) Foundation, seeks to spread nationwide awareness about the 1333 toll-free crisis support hotline and raise funds to sustain and expand its life-saving, transformative operations.

An organization committed to supporting mental health, Allianz has implemented key mechanisms to ensure employee wellbeing globally, and Allianz Lanka too follows this lead in its operations. Accordingly, Allianz Lanka has established a number of programmes to ensure positive mental health outcomes for employees, including promoting work-life balance, supporting achievements outside of work, providing access to psychological support services, and creating an inclusive environment where all employees can thrive. Thus, Allianz Lanka’s support of “Out of the Shadows,” as a Gold Sponsor, is a natural extension of its commitment to supporting mental health for all.

To promote nationwide awareness and support for 1333, the 1333 Bikeathon “Out of the Shadows”, has embarked on an exciting bicycle ride to cover a distance of 1,333 kilometres across Sri Lanka. The riders will be averaging over 100 kilometres per day over the course of the 13 days. The ride, which commenced on the 29th of August, will come to its peak on the 10th of September, back in Colombo, to commemorate the World Suicide Prevention Day. Throughout the ride, numerous awareness events are organized at each key destination to engage local communities and inspire positive change. Allianz staff from its island-wide branch network also supported this worthy cause by joining the awareness sessions at most locations.

Allianz Insurance Lanka Ltd. and Allianz Life Insurance Lanka Ltd., known together as Allianz Lanka, are fully-owned subsidiaries of Allianz SE, a global financial services provider with services predominantly in the insurance and asset management businesses, headquartered in Munich, Germany. The global strength and solid capitalization of the Allianz Group, coupled with local expertise and business know-how, have been Allianz Lanka’s powerful formula for success.
