Airtel Lanka, one of Sri Lanka’s preferred employer of choice, acknowledged the completion of the 2nd batch of Field Sales Executive (FSE) Development Programme recently. The programme gave four best performing FSEs the opportunity to obtain a Preliminary Certificate in Marketing (PCM) through the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), a stepping stone to a well-recognised and professional industry qualification.

Airtel FSEs, recruited through the Distributor network, play an all-important, crucial role in the success of the company. In return, Airtel Lanka has extended all its employee benefits such as insurance, engagement, training and career development opportunities to them. The FSE Development programme is a life and work skills education initiative focusing on enhancing foundational skills, technical training and support to help them advance in their careers.

Congratulating the batch of FSEs, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Lanka, Jinesh Hegde said, “It has been two years since we introduced this programme and there is a clear improvement in the performance and the mindset of our FSEs. The development and retention of FSEs is a top priority for us. By building an enabling world-class work environment and experience, Airtel FSEs are now more productive and are better equipped to face the challenges of the dynamic work environment.”

Initially, every FSE goes through an orientation/induction training at the time of joining Airtel and they are exposed to quarterly training at regional levels which create an opportunity to up skill and expand their vocational capabilities.

As part of the programme, every year the best performing FSEs are selected to participate at the Airtel Sales Academy. The selected FSEs are groomed during a 12-month training programme delivered by exemplary performers and sales experts. Thereafter, graduates of the Airtel Sales Academy are then given the opportunity to complete their PCM through SLIM.

Airtel Lanka is committed towards the continued development of its employees and business partners to enable each of them to reach their full potential.
