Acuity Knowledge Partners (Acuity), a provider of bespoke services to the global financial services sector, is pleased to announce that it has been accredited by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) to offer practical training for aspiring professional accountants, including future chartered accountants. This recognition deepens Acuity’s commitment to supporting a new generation of finance leaders and opens up new opportunities for career growth and development in global capital markets.

Independent evaluators from CA Sri Lanka examined Acuity’s workflows meticulously to ensure that they met the requirements for practical training, which is an integral part of CA Sri Lanka’s globally recognised qualification. Acuity has stringent protocols in place to evaluate the progress of trainees and uphold CA Sri Lanka’s standards for producing top-tier finance professionals. Acuity is focused on offering proactive support to qualified candidates throughout their training journey.

Heshana Kuruppu, President, of CA Sri Lanka, said, “CA Sri Lanka is delighted to recognise Acuity Knowledge Partners as an approved training partner. This partnership holds significant importance as it opens numerous opportunities for CA students to gain valuable insights and exposure to international capital markets, which will further enhance their ability and global mobility to pursue successful international careers.”

Acuity’s experience is now recognised by every major financial education provider in Sri Lanka, including the CFA Institute (US), CIMA (UK), and ACCA (UK) and now CA Sri Lanka. Acuity is the largest local employer of CFA charter holders and one of the top local employers of CIMA (UK) and ACCA (UK) graduates. This authorisation by CA Sri Lanka establishes Acuity’s role as a leading voice in the local professional services sector and go a long way in improving the expertise of CA students in capital markets.

Having been approved to provide CA practical training, Acuity has also significantly increased the depth of its candidate pool. CA Sri Lanka’s student population of over 30,000 can now consider training and working with Acuity for their mandatory training requirements. According to CA Sri Lanka’s maximum member-to-active student ratio, this authorisation enables Acuity to accept more than 100 trainees on a rolling basis. With this permission, CA students can pursue rewarding careers in global capital markets, including positions in equity research, fixed-income research, lending services and investment banking.

“Following the training programs prescribed by CA Sri Lanka offers several benefits, not typically available in the Sri Lanka market currently”, states Jehan Jeyaretnam, Country Head, Acuity Knowledge Partners Sri Lanka Delivery Centre. “Interns would be trained by globally recognised professionals in the investment banking, asset management and private markets sectors. They would also have access to an extensive learning-on-demand platform and the chance to work with professionals in the international capital markets.”

Acuity aims to expand its partnership with CA Sri Lanka in providing training programmes and introductory courses to CA students to better prepare them for careers in global capital markets and investment research.
