Abans proudly commenced its island wide “Abans Unusum Hithawathkam” Project on October 2, 2023, at the Sarvodaya Suwasetha Nutrition Centre. The primary aim of this initiative is to bring warmth and comfort into the lives of children, and it stared on World Children’s Day by donating water heater units to five children’s homes simultaneously. These homes have been carefully selected to include areas where school children, children with special needs, and infants reside.

Phase One of the “Unusum Hithawathkam” project is a testament to Abans’ commitment to corporate social responsibility. Through this initiative, Abans seeks to make a significant difference in the lives of children in need. Abans’ project goes beyond providing warm water, it enhances the living conditions of children in need, ensuring warmth and comfort during colder seasons, while also positively impacting their physical and emotional well-being through essential amenities.

Prioritizing locations with special needs children ensure inclusivity and support for the most vulnerable members of the community, and their emphasis on areas with school children aids educational pursuits by fostering a conducive learning environment. Additionally, this initiative not only benefits the children but also empowers the communities, addressing a critical need and fostering a sense of togetherness, particularly on World Children’s Day.

The initial phase of the “Unusum Hithawathkam” project has and will extend its aids to several deserving locations, including the Moratuwa Special Education School & Home for Girls, the Wijewardhana Balika Child Development Centre, the Sarvodaya Suwasetha Leela Jayasekara Memorial Transit Home, and the Madiwela Special Education School & Home for Boys.

This initiative aligns seamlessly with Abans’ future investment strategy, which emphasizes building and nurturing communities as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. By focusing on the well-being of children in need, Abans reinforces its commitment to creating a brighter and more inclusive future for all.

As Abans continues its efforts to support worthy causes and nurture communities, their initiatives on World Children’s Day serve as a shining example of corporate social responsibility, demonstrating how businesses can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it the most.
