A touch of Sri Lanka in Dover Marina Hotel

The Sri Lankan-owned Best Western Premier Dover Marina Hotel & Spa has recently introduced Ayurveda treatment at its Waterfront Health Club and Spa in a response to the growing demand for the Sri Lankan treatment.

General Manager of the Hotel Pradeep Wijesinghe said that Sri Lankan born Managing Director and owner of the hotel Kanagaratnam Rajaseelan had been keen to add a Sri Lankan touch to the property.

“We see a growing acceptance for Ayurveda treatment and many British people as well as foreign guests are keen to get treatment on a long-term basis and not just as a ‘one off’ treatment,” he said.

Rajaseelan explained: “I love Dover and I believe in its potential as a tourism destination. It is a great honour for the hotel to have been named by Best Western as one of its top hotels which puts it in the top rank of the brand’s flagship hotels nationwide.”

Pradeep Wijesinghe, who brings more than 20 years of top-level experience to the hotel, said that in response to the demand the Dover Marina had taken on a permanent Sri Lankan Ayurveda practitioner.

He added that the hotel also regularly imported carefully selected and genuine Ayurveda products. To complement the Ayurveda treatment, the hotel also has Yoga classes that also draw people to the hotel.

The management has invested several million Pounds Sterling in upgrading the hotel, adding more features to the spa and paving the way for Dover Marina Hotel & Spa to be recognised as a Best Western Premier hotel, making it one of the top places to stay in the country.

He said the four-star hotel with 81 contemporary styled bedrooms including suites had several Sri Lankans on the staff, which gives Sri Lankans who visit the hotel a Lankan touch.

The Dover Marina Hotel & Spa has all the modern facilities and amenities one would expect from one of the best UK coastal hotels. These include two Marco Pierre White outlets, a modern gym, sauna, steam room, spa pool and sunbed.
