The inaugural edition of Coolest Projects Sri Lanka, organized by STEMUP Educational Foundation in collaboration with Raspberry Pi Foundation and powered by F5, concluded with resounding success, sparking a wave of innovation and creativity among young minds across the nation.

Held in Colombo Public Library, this landmark event provided a unique platform for young individuals up to age 18 to showcase their technological projects in a vibrant, science fair-style exhibition. Over 200 innovative projects were submitted, with the top 75 showcased at the event, drawing participation and keen interest from students all around Sri Lanka.

The initiative aimed to inspire and foster skills in innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship, and technology. By encouraging young innovators to share their work, Coolest Projects Sri Lanka not only highlighted the potential of the next generation but also fostered a spirit of community and learning among participants.

“Seeing the enthusiasm and innovative spirit of these young creators has been incredibly inspiring,” said Prabhath Mannapperuma, Founder of STEMUP Educational Foundation. “Their creativity knows no bounds, and Coolest Projects has given them a well-deserved platform to shine on an international stage.”

Attendees at the event had the opportunity to vote for their favorite projects through a web-based voting system, adding an interactive and engaging layer to the experience. This peer-recognition aspect of the event was designed to boost confidence among young innovators and encourage a supportive community environment.

Coolest Projects Sri Lanka 2024 not only celebrated the achievements of its participants but also set a benchmark for future tech-oriented youth events in the region. It highlighted the vital role of partnerships and sponsorships in nurturing the potential of young innovators.

“We are thrilled with the success of this event and grateful for the support from our partners and everyone involved. Together, we have created a nurturing ground for future innovators,” concluded Pradeep Kavinda Kotuwegedara, a Director of STEMUP Educational Foundation.

As Coolest Projects Sri Lanka 2024 wraps up, the organizers look forward to expanding this initiative in the coming years, continuing to offer young innovators a stage to display their ideas and achievements while inspiring others to explore the possibilities within technology and beyond.
