A discussion meeting on the current and future of Bangladesh Hockey was held on Sunday 1 September 2024 at Dhaka Club. In the meeting, former national team hockey players and members of the organization spoke about the current context and what to do in the future. The speakers in the exchange meeting said that now is the best time to present the hockey of Bangladesh to the world.

At the beginning of the meeting, all the students and common people who were martyred in the anti-quota and anti-discrimination movement were remembered. At present, the souls of those who have died in the flood situation are sought for forgiveness. It is hoped that everyone can safely return to their normal lives after the floods.

Along with education, the importance of sports is immense to make the next generation of Bangladesh more healthy and fresh. It is now a matter of thinking about the present and the future without keeping in mind what happened in the past.

Now is the time to take hockey seriously along with all sports. Now is the time to take hockey forward through district based training, practice, organizing and competition. A one-time tradition of hockey can be the glory of future generations and the country.

All are urged to work together to take hockey to the international level and win.

There is no alternative to create better quality players by building international standard hockey fields in every district of the country. The coming days are expected to usher in the glorious future of hockey under government and private sponsorship.

Former national hockey team player and coach Nurul Islam, former national hockey team player Asim Adel, Kazi Abu Zafar Tapan, Mamunur Rashid and organizers Yusuf Ali, Mahmudul Haque Mitu, Badrul Islam Dipu, Shahidullah Dolan, Nurul Islam and Mahmudul Haque spoke on the occasion.
