TRUB Smart Performance Award 2024 held

Land Minister Narayon Chandra Chanda said that various laws and rules related to land are being reformed. As part of this reform program, the work of translating the old laws and rules related to land in English into Bangla is under process.
Land Minister Narayon Chandra Chanda said this while delivering the chief guest speech at the ‘International Mother Language Day and Smart Bangladesh Talk, Smart Performance Award 2024’ organized jointly by Television Reporters Unity of Bangladesh (TRUB) and Smart Bangladesh Business Association on 21 February 2024 Wednesday at Hotel Inter Continental, Dhaka.
The State Acquisition and Tenancy Act, 1950, has already been translated into Bengali as the ‘Rashtriya Adhigrahan ebong Prajasatta Ain 1950’. Additionally, the Land Reforms Ordinance, 1984, has been repealed, and a new “Bhumi Songskar Ain, 2023” has been enacted in Bangla. Other laws and regulations that are still in English are currently being translated into Bengali.



In remembrance and with profound respect for the greatest Bangalee of all time, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, the four national leaders, martyred freedom fighters in the historic struggle for national liberation, and language martyrs, the land minister emphasized, our great liberation war did not start out of the blue in 1971. Our liberation war is the culmination of more than 20 years of struggle for various just rights. Our Bangla Language Movement is one such struggle.
Former Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan MP, Mohiuddin Maharaj MP, RAJUK Chairman Md Anisur Rahman Miah, BTV DG Dr Md Jahangir Alam, BGMEA President Faruk Hasan, former State Minister for Information and Cultural Affairs Syed Didar Bakht, among others, were present on the occasion.
Following his speech, the land minister presented crests to the recipients of the Smart Performance Award 2024, including acclaimed Rabindra Sangeet singer Rezwana Choudhury Bannya and playwright and director Rajib Moni Das.
Rajib Moni Das is an author, playwright, lyricist and director. He started his media career as a stage artiste. Since 2009, he has been writing script for television drams. His written first single-episode play is ‘Rahmat Master’. Rajib has written over 150 single-episode dramas so far.  His popular drama serials are ‘Traffic Signal’, ‘Rong Berong er Manushera’, ‘Pagoler Mela’, ‘Saat Ronga Bhalobasha’. Apart from playwrights, Rajib also wrote songs, stories and novels. Rajib is also known for as ad maker and director. He has made a good many television commercials.
